Interactive pressure-sensitive kilim · 2025

Waveform begins with a six second fragment of a Yörük song. The audio waveform of this recording was translated into a 340 × 100 cm handwoven kilim, turning a brief moment of sound into a physical textile.

The work then reverses this process. A DIY pressure sensitive mat developed with Karlo Sono is placed underneath the kilim, allowing the woven waveform to become an interface for sound again. Rather than interacting with individual touch points, visitors use their body weight, position and movement across the textile to manipulate the audio.

The work creates a cycle from sound to textile and back to sound, moving the recording between digital representation, handwoven material and bodily interaction.
