Interactive kilims that tell stories of people and places. Each work brings together layers of long term research from personal histories and local myths to landscape, architecture and historical context. Through interaction, these stories extend beyond the textile through video, sound and text.
WEAVING GENERATIONS

My first interactive kilim, following weaving across three generations of women through the story of my first weaving teachers, Hatice and Reyhan. Hidden touch points reveal documentary videos projected directly onto the textile, expanding the woven story through personal histories, motifs and my own process of learning to weave.
KOVANLIK STORY
Interactive documentary kilim · 2024
A woven diary developed during six months in Kovanlık, a village in the Taurus Mountains. Combining three weaving techniques, the work brings together the region’s ancient landscape and archaeology with events, encounters and tensions unfolding around us during our time there. More than 20 hidden touch points reveal fragments of a written and audio diary, allowing the story to be encountered non-linearly.
